Reporting to the CEO, you will direct all development strategies and associated marketing and communication activities to achieve the library’s fundraising goals. As our development leader you will establish and cultivate relationships with donors, volunteers and library staff. Your accomplished fundraising experience will contribute to our organization’s success.

Our ideal candidate has at least five years of fundraising or related experience and a post secondary degree or college diploma related to fundraising and/or communications. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills; planning, teamwork and organizational abilities; proven success in building relationships with the media and key contacts in the community; ability to raise funds; and strong computer skills, including knowledge of donor management software. CFRE designation would be an asset.

This is a 24-month full-time contract with the possibility of extension.

The position will assist in a wide range of public awareness services, communication strategies, and fundraising activities to support all operations of the Agency and the Foundation in maintaining a positive and proactive public profile. The successful applicant will report directly to the Supervisor of Fundraising and Communications.
Responsibilities will include co-ordinating community awareness initiatives, managing requests from the community and media for guest speakers and interviews, assisting with mass and targeted mailings, database management and reporting, special event support, and community presentations.

Qualifications:
· A background in communications, public relations, donor development or equivalent; and or social work.
· Experience in public relations, media relations and fundraising development preferred.
· Proven written and oral communication skills; advanced skills in computer applications including word processing, graphics, desktop publishing an asset.
· Excellent organizational abilities; attention to detail; proven skills in special event co-ordination; experience with Raisers Edge

Salary Range:
$36,276.00 to $41,627.56 per annum
Management and Excluded Grade 7
